Exciting Job Opportunity! This job has now closed

Strathyre Spring Festival needs an Events Project Manager. A great opportunity to work in the beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. You will be working with the BLS Community Trust to plan and deliver a great Spring Festival celebrating local food, drink, music, and arts and crafts. If you're interested click on this link to take you to the job description and application.

Funding Galore!

The Broch Field Community Buy-out: We have been lucky enough to secure funding from the Scottish Land Fund to purchase the Broch Field for the community; funding through the National Park's Green Recovery Fund to complete most of Phase 1; and funding from LEADER's Community Led Visitor Management Fund to complete Phase 1. To find out more follow this link.

Strathyre Spring Festival: We have secured funding from LEADER to employ an events manager to take forward the Strathyre Spring Festival in 2022. This will replace the Strathyre Music Festival, which is sadly coming to a close. We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the Music Festival over the years and worked so hard, especially Mike and Chris. It was a great event and will be sorely missed by the community.

The Strathyre Spring Festival is in its very early days and will be delivered by the Trust with support from the Balvaig Group. It will not be exclusively a music festival, and will also allow us to celebrate local food, drink, arts and crafts. Keep an eye on the website for its page once it's up and running.

BLS Community Trust becomes a SCIO

We are happy to announce that OSCR (the Scottish Charities Regulator) have approved the BLS Community Trust's application to convert to a SCIO. This is great news for the Trust as it brings us in line with current charity governance practice, updates our Constitution to make us more relevant to the modern world, and streamlines our accounts and admin. We would like to thank our Membership for their support, and Jane Booth, who spent a lot of time and effort getting us to this point.

Merry Christmas from BLS Community Trust

2020 has been a very difficult year, with everyone being affected by the pandemic in many different ways. We can only hope that 2021 will be a better year, when we can all meet up again and retrieve a sense of normality. Therefore, BLS Community Trust would like to wish all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New.

BLS Community Trust AGM

We would like to extend a big 'thank you' to everyone who managed to attend our 2020 AGM on December 16th via Zoom. It has been interesting using online technology, and bar a couple of glitches it went fairly smoothly.

We discussed and voted on converting the BLS Community Trust to a SCIO and adopting the proposed Constitution. Both Resolutions passed with 100% of the vote.

We would like to welcome three new directors to the Board, Mike Lee and Morven Sutherland from Balquhidder, and Sara Hesp from Strathyre. However, we also have to say a sad 'goodbye' to Andrew Poulter, who has decided to stand down. We would like to thank him for his five years of service to the Community Trust; we will miss him.

You will find the draft minutes of the 2020 AGM here under 'Who we are'.
